Meet the Owner – Daniel Sidorov

My name is Daniel Sidorov, and I’m proud to welcome you to ’T Gouden Ambacht. At 27 years old, I bring both formal education and hands-on experience in the hospitality industry. I hold a secondary diploma in culinary and restaurant management from the renowned Hotel- en Toerismeschool Spermalie in Bruges, as well as a bachelor’s degree in hotel management.

Before opening ’T Gouden Ambacht, I was the owner of De Witten Vos, a well-known restaurant located on the Grote Markt in Mechelen. During my six years there, I elevated the business significantly, even amid the challenges of the COVID-19 period. I successfully increased revenue and improved its ranking from 46th to 3rd out of over 330 establishments in the Mechelen area—an achievement I’m deeply proud of.

I accomplished this by focusing on what matters most: creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere, emphasizing etiquette and guest-friendliness, and consistently serving high-quality dishes—strategies that require minimal investment but make a major difference in customer experience.

My previous experience also includes working at Crowne Plaza Zaventem, where I led a team of 14 and handled restaurant operations, training, wine pairings, and service standards. I’ve completed internships at top-tier hotels such as Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam, Hilton Antwerp, Hotel Blanke Top, and Sheraton Brussels Airport, gaining insight into every facet of the hospitality industry—from room service and guest relations to fine dining and marketing.

As a passionate and driven professional, I value honesty, responsibility, and structured planning. I enjoy being hands-on and staying in control of every detail while remaining open to feedback and new perspectives. Hospitality isn’t just my job—it’s my calling, and I continue to deepen my knowledge through research and learning, even in my free time.
